➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

You are not getting married.
There isn't a good enough reason to used their wedding as an excuse to put things off.

Yeah but my original thought was that I had tons to around here and should spend that time doing all that stuff. Of course, I haven’t, but now it’s next week already. And today I did a lot for the first time in a while ha

I have a fully stocked kitchen. I cook A LOT. I don't have a lot of gadgets, but I have lots of pots and pans, all well used. I have tons of jars for canning. I do dishes while I'm cooking so that I don't have any left to clean after I eat, barring the plate I eat from.
I have a fridge like anyone else. I have electricity and lights. I'm not Amish. I don't hang out in my room. I sleep there. I see no reason to have additional lighting in a room I sleep in. I also see no reason to buy clothes when I have more than enough crap. I have clothes from high school that I still wear, and I'm 37. Turns out, clothes can last a long ass time if you don't care about trends. I could probably never buy clothes again and be just fine.
I tend not to keep most physical books around. I have some that I collect, and tree/bird/medicinal plant identification books, but otherwise not a lot.
I am also not a fan of having a whole lot on my walls. I have a couple things, but pretty minimal.
I have a tv and I love watching movies and such, but I haven't had cable in about 15 years.
All in all, I feel like I could be much more of a minimalist, and I think I'll get there eventually. Until then, my bathroom drawers are filled with bleach, developer, and various wild hair colors. I don't brush my hair, but you bet your ass that it's going to be a cool color.

That’s awesome!! Sounds like you basically just have what you need and not much else which I think is a good way to live. I need to be more like that haha

And that’s awesome you cook so much! I need to cook more. I was doing really well with it for a bit but this week I haven’t been. although I have cooked like 3 times now including tonight so I guess that’s something. Oh and breakfast a couple times.

No, but I did freak out and get hubby to take a picture. They took the next exit.

I need to put my own BYC bumper stickers on my car. Hubby asked me to “please not.”
Um, it’s MY car.
Your embarrassment only makes me stronger.
Please do! I haven't put any on my car, since bumper stickers are rather tacky, in my opinion, but I have been tempted...

I guess so but I also don’t really think I do most of that stuff... but maybe I do. Idk. I definitely at least go on it instead of doing stuff which is an issue but not sure about the other ones.
If you really don’t see a difference then there’s no point in even talking about it.
You pour your heart out in public and air all this dirty laundry but you’re surprised when people “cross the line” with personal advice. You’re literally asking for it.

Anyway.
Do you live near any city operated animal shelters?

Please do! I haven't put any on my car, since bumper stickers are rather tacky, in my opinion, but I have been tempted...
Oh, they’re extremely tacky, but the world needs to know.

The only reason I haven’t is because I’m obsessive about stickers. I’m paranoid that I won’t like the placement or it’ll get damaged, so I just hoard them all where they’ll never actually be seen or appreciated.
I’m sure there’s a deep psychological evaluation to be made from that. :caf

I just want to say that I am extremely disappointed in you all about the quality of advice on this thread. You are all normally so kind and insightful, but you really dropped the ball this time. I made it very clear that I was planning to refinish and paint a large piece of furniture and no one told me it was a terrible idea or warned me that the amount of painting and sanding alone would likely push me to the brink of insanity :gig

Kidding of course. Love you all. Tell my husband to try to find some non-paint stained clothing to bury me in. :lau

Finally caught up...again.

Took time today to search for a part for my oven...the bottom heating element gave up the ghost. :caf Hubby wants to simply replace the small wall oven since finding the part has been a true pain. The kitchen remodel includes going back to a real big range. I can't see spending money on a wall oven that will be taken out in a few more months.
My sour dough starter has had to be refreshed since I can't bake bread until my oven is fixed!:barnie

We got a lovely much needed inch of rain last night and today's high temperature was 89 degrees...also a welcome change.
