➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

You should. :) I used to do lots of quick pen doodles like these.

Now I get so hung up on planning and perfectionism, I never get any drawing done. It’s stupid.

Have you ever seen acrylic paint pouring? It looks so fun and freeing. No thinking or technical skill required. :D Just a crap ton of acrylic paint.. lol.

Wow! Even those are amazing! :love

I totally get the planning and perfectionism thing!! I’m a major perfectionist too and it definitely makes it hard to actually do anything.

I do it with everything too.

Writing, drawing, music, etc.

Even essays for school I’d do it. Delete and rewrite what I wrote and/or toss it in the trash. Same with short stories/songs/letters/things I wrote for fun (really don’t do that anymore).

Even sometimes with like notes I’d take in class or things I physically write out I would literally get annoyed if the pen is low on ink or something like that and have to start over on a new page or trace over the letters again and again until it was darker and then I sometimes “fix” the letters I mess up by doing that, shade in gaps or whatever.

And also if I do need to tear the page off and start again, even the indents on the new page from writing on top of it annoys me so I have to find a fresh page without that.

These last few might be more OCD than perfectionism. :lau

But still.

Whenever I do try to draw or whatever, even if it’s just like scribbling/a doodle/random design, I always get annoyed it doesn’t look “right” or how it looks in my head and keep redoing it.

When I’ve tried singing or making videos, I usually have to do a million takes until I get it “right” and usually the “mistake” isn’t even bad or worth redoing it over.

Sooo... yeah. All that to say: I totally get it.

I think we should both start drawing again and/or maybe force ourselves to do stupid, fast, bad, drawings and not get hung up on details and not let ourselves throw them out/redo them lol just to start. That way we can at least start doing something again.

And I have not heard of that but I looked it up and that sounds amazing!!! :love

Seems really really messy though!!! LOL

But I love it and I think I want to try it! :D

Or maybe water color.

Or clay. I’ve always wanted to try working with clay. It seems fun. :D

Whoops... sorry... there’s my novel for the day. Guess I still type them after all. :lau

But at least the number of them is going down somewhat.

Good food, good music, good alcohol—for free! What more could you ask for?!
I’m glad y’all had fun, that sounds like such a blast.

The high tomorrow is supposed to be 77!! I’m so freakin excited to voluntarily wear jeans!

X2!!!

And wait wait wait... you wear JEANS in that weather!? Like.... long pants!?

I would sweat my ass off if I did that lmao

I was hot today and it was only like 66. I had to roll my sleeves up. :lau

But it was also sunny and I was walking but still. I did roll them back down whenever the wind picked up though or in the shade. :lau

Watercolor is hard. Dunno if you’ve ever tried it, just warning you lol. It is surprisingly complicated.
I was thinking of doing some very simple paintings as Christmas gifts to the ladies in my life. Like their favorite flower, or a feather or something. I don’t know. Need to find time.

I have to wear long pants to my labs haha.
I bring jeans in my backpack because I can’t bring myself to wear pajama pants in public.. like some people..

We had a high today of 61 degrees and it was overcast. So I decided to catch up on putting some roosters in the canner. Just before skinning the 4th bird, I went to get the 5th bird to get him hanging and draining. Getting him out of the isolation cage, I caught my hand on the cage clasp and cut a hole in my hand right on the tendon between the thumb and index finger! Had to let go of the rooster so I could free up my hand...the wire clasp punctured and twisted up under the skin. Fortunately no major bleeding.
The rooster ran off in shear terror.
I washed and bandaged my hand, put on a rubber glove and finished skinning and cleaning #4. Then I washed and prepped the birds for canning. I have 7 quarts of broth cooling in the canner and the breast and thigh meat will be canned tomorrow.
Hubby broke a toe today tripping over something at the stockyards. He and BIL had taken two loads of calves to market. Hubby said he stumbled over a concrete base to a pole shed while unloading the calves from the trailer. Said he was looking up in the trailer and didn't see the pole....that's what happens when you don't look where you are going.
One of our broodies is hatching her clutch so I moved her nest box into a cage. She has both bantam and large fowl chicks....safer in the brood cage than on the floor in the brooder room...too many juveniles running around.
Heading off to dreamland.

Nah, I’ve never tried it before. Just thought it sounded easy but I guess not :lau

Guess that’s out then LOL

Tbh I’ve never really been super into like actual art but I would love to get into music like guitar, piano, or even just singing or something, so I might try to do that again. But I totally suck at it and have absolutely zero talent or musical abilities or rhythm whatsoever so that’s a big reason why I’ve never really pursued it or anything. Which sucks cause I really love it and also love writing songs (or at least I used to) but I could never perform them myself because I sound like a dying seal and can’t play any instruments. :(

Which I’ve also always thought was pretty unfair that some people are just like born with amazing voices or musical talent or whatever but don’t use it or hate music or whatever meanwhile others, like me, love it but have zero talent. :(

And awww I think that is an excellent idea!!! I am sure they will love it!!

And ahh okay that makes sense then!! Yeah, I’ve never understood wearing pajamas in public. I’ve thought about it before if I’m feeling very lazy and/or only going to the store down the street or something super fast but I’ve never actually done it. Always talked myself out of it. Decided that is so lazy and so embarrassing/weird and changed before going. :lau I won’t even go to the drive thru or driving around at night by myself in pajamas! Lol always put actual real clothes on first.

I had a friend that literally only wore pajama pants. It was weird as heck. I did see her wear a dress once or twice I think lol and I think I might have seen her wear pants like one time. But 99.9% of the time it was this fuzzy type pajamas. Usually children’s designs too haha
