➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I hope you are not too excited to sleep tonight!! :wee:eek:
I have to sleep tonight..hopefully I'll be up all night tomorrow night watching the bator.

So to recap my plans for tomorrow.
I am going to candle the eggs more slowly this time, looking for good veins.
When I get them home, assuming they are cold again, I will leave them on the counter for a while until they get to room temp.
THEN put them in the bator.

My question is should I put them in the bator already heated or turn the bator on once I put them in?

yes, had a nice long talk about his lavender line (beautiful but out of my price range $90 a dozen) and the new line he is working on, Silver marans. He has beautiful marans and ships all over the country, he gave me 14 eggs for the price of 12, because when he ships he always adds two extra, just in case. I thought that was really nice since he wasn't shipping to me, I was picking them up myself. He is the guy who collected $7,000 on facebook for PR and also sent chicks to PR free of charge last fall. Just a very nice man. Interesting internet site Cypress Duck Farm, if anyone is interested. So eggs go under the hens tonight after dark when we can move hens with little or no problems. Thanks for asking. I am really excited.:wee

That's awesome. Wishing you and your broody girls good luck!

@KikisGirls the incy should be at stable temp when you add the eggs i believe.
That's what I am thinking but I thought I remember someone saying something about letting the eggs heat up with the bator once...
I don't think it takes very long for the bator to heat up.
I am plugging it in right now to time it!
:woot
