➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Me either. Like, I don't think the moon landing was faked, I don't believe the government is hiding alien bodies in area 51, and I don't believe the twin towers were destroyed by our government. But this...:idunnosome things just don't add up. Especially when the CDC refuses to acknowledge chronic Lyme disease and insist that doctors need only prescribe a round of antibiotics to completely cure it in spite of the physicians that report their experiences with their patients that have it., in spite of the growing numbers of those affected.
Ok. Enough.
Back to CHICKENS:wee:jumpy!

Haha yeah I definitely don’t believe in those things either and don’t see how anyone can!

But yeah this one makes sense and it is weird they won’t acknowledge it. I wonder if they genuinely think it can be cured from that though?

Does seem like not nearly enough people know about it though.

And it is weird how it just one day appeared.

Anyyyyyywaaaaaaayyyyyyy....

Yeah, we’ll get back to chickens haha

Here’s some pictures of mine.

And I also ordered 12 hatching eggs arriving next week.

They are beautiful. :love

I love your roost!! I was thinking of doing something like that but my coop isn’t big enough for it. But the current roosts work well.

And awesome!! What breeds??

I just finished building that coop. Now I need more chickens to fill it up!!:lau

Lets see...to the left is Henneth Fowltrow, easter Easter Egger.
Next to her is her best friend, Wynnie the Silver Lace Wyandotte.
Sitting alone in the corner is Nugget the Buff Orpington.
Next is Eggsmerelda also a Buff Orpington who goes broody in spring.
Those were the hens. The crowd to the right are all laying pullets.
First is Bunny the Black Copper Marans.
Next is Kitkit the Legbar (pronounced Gidgid, Mohawk for chicken. She has a Mohawk like crest. Plus, I'm Mohawk).
Next Carmen the Olive Egger.
Lastly is Matilda the Leghorn (Matilda the Brave, always the first to do anything new).
So, who do you have?

:lau totally understandable!! I filled my coop up and now have to build a new one for these new ones :lau

And I love the names!!! :love

Nice breed variety too!!

I have (6) 4 year old hens and 5 new pullets added in April.

Mine are nowhere near as creative names as yours but....

The hens are:

Blackie and Beauty the Black Australorps (as in Black Beauty the horse movie/book lol)

Amber and Angel the Buff Orpingtons.

Bunny and Diva the Easter Eggers.

The pullets are:

Sweetpea the Delaware

Little One (or as my dad likes to call her, The Colonel :lau ) the White Leghorn

Peach the Easter Egger

Poppy the Speckled Sussex

And last but not least, Autumn the Partridge Rock.

Little One is very brave, curious, inquisitive and always has to fly up to the closest perch to the fence and be eye level with me when I come out :love

They still prefer to hang out with their respective age groups especially when free ranging but they do all get along mostly. :)

The eggs are an assortment from Meyer Hatchery, just their “Assorted Chicken Eggs” so they could be anything haha we will see!! I’m excited!! Not sure if I will keep any or not. Depends what breeds I get and how many roosters haha

I am also thinking of adding some Red Sexlink chicks or maybe some more Leghorns in spring and starting a layer flock to sell eggs. :)

But I’m not sure on that yet.

If I keep any from this batch I probably will or might buy some Sexlink eggs. There is another hatchery that sells them but they’re pretty pricey.

And here's some interesting reading. Have fun!:oops:
https://www.dr-rath-foundation.org/...disease-links-to-biological-warfare-research/
Just want to say thank you for the links you have shared. We have a friend who suffers from Lyme disease since finding an attached tick in 1990.
Her doctor advised to never discard an attached tick when it is removed. Instead save it by putting it in a zip bag or clean container for tests should the telltale signs of infection appear...like a red ring or bullseye around the bite area.

I've never bought straight runs cuz I don't want roosters. Which reminds me, I forgot!

This is Roopecca, formerly known as Repecca till she crowed, Lavender Orpington. Once hormones hit him he became protective of the girls but from us. After drawing blood several times including a rather embarrassing frontal attack on hubby, we had to decide. Culling seemed the only way out. Then we decided to give him the very small original coop as his bachelor pad. It's plenty of room for 1 bird but was horrible for 9. His human aggressiveness is why I don't think I'm cut out for roosters. Maybe someday. Fortunately my breeder guarentees gender and will trade back a pullet. He also lets me chose what breeds I want according to what he has hatching. He also broods them for me until they can acclimated to outdoors. I'm not set up for brooding. Yet.
You have some very pretty ladies! Meyer's chose you some lovely breeds. Aren't Leghorns a hoot? Matilda was first to exit the introduction cage, first to explore the far reaches of the 300sqft run, first to jump on the perches and roosts. She squawks like a dinosaur constantly, no clucking. She tells me off and complains to me if she sees me. I can see the Colonel connection for sure!
