➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I’ve never met a vet who wasn’t in it for the animals. Not that they’re all perfect, I’ve definitely met some bad apples as you say who put a bad taste in my mouth. But I personally don’t think that’s the main issue.
I'm not sure. Maybe some people think that their animals aren't worth the cost of the vet :idunnoi do anything and everything for my animals. We live in completely different locations so where you are is probably a different attitude towards vets. There are vets here who overcharge big time and that part sickens me.

I (personally) think the problem is that we expect human-level medical services for pet-level prices. And most people don’t have pet insurance.
so people are footed a huge bill for a professional opinion, examinations, imaging, anesthesia, etc. and go “what! If you really loved animals, you would treat them for free!” Which, yknow, imagine saying that to literally any other medical professional. It’d be insane. And yet still.. somehow.. the majority of veterinarians are in debt and far from upper-class.
And no, the attitude toward vets is much the same here. People believe they overcharge and just want to milk you dry. I think most people share that sentiment.. I just strongly disagree with most people. ;)

I believe in more holistic approaches, but I don't share them. I don't feel like getting my earful from most people. I'm a plant based person who finds the good in a lot of plants. My vet is fully onboard with everything and loves how we rescued animals in need. All our dogs have incredible stories.

We have no bird vet locally so our vet is always giving a helpful hand and advice when we need it.

I can undoubtedly tell the difference in the pet type and livestock type vets around here. And I'm a lot more leery of the pet kind. Although my dogs vet is great. When she goes in the vet focuses on the issue at hand not all the other stuff she "needs". The livestock ones are cowgirls and care about the animal only

I went to a farm one time with a veterinarian I worked for and it was probably the funnest thing ever. We went to a dairy farm and castrated some bulls. I got a free gallon of fresh ice cream too.

On the flip side when I took my dog for emer surgery to a veterinarian that was referred by my regular vet the place looked like a peoples hospital complete with photos on the walls off the doctors. Surgeons, oncologists, anesthesiologists, etc I knew I was in for it. Only difference was the patients

We have an emergency vet like that as well. I've only had to bring my dogs twice.

Thank you for posting these. I will try the red one tomorrow .
But here is the white pearl with the safety pins.
I couldn't find the gold pins in a big size so had to use the silver. I braided the wire for the wings and used little glass beads for the halo. I think she is a close interpretation of your grandmother's pretty angel.

This is perfect.

It might depend on location too. I think the vet I worked for was the only one for a few towns so everyone went to him. I miss being in surgeries and also learning a ton every single day. The traveling clinics or home vets are my go to now. I'm not fond of the vets where I live and neither are most of the people I know.
There are 15 vets within 5 miles of my house.
Only one is an avian vet and they do NOT see poultry.
