I'm not sure what is even remotely strange about mixing cream and butter to brush on a pie or other pastries. I mean, it's kinda standard practice in most baking. Baking at a little place on the water was my first ever real job! I learned a lot there. I'll bet Elko's pie was rad... mine was better because it had real sugar in it.

Even saw the visiting chef on our local news slather his apple pocket pie with cream, melted butter and sugar on the evening news.

The top one looks exactly like my Granny's.

Aww, I was hoping it would...even with the different beads in the center.
I need to get some more gold beads.
