➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Are your fish tanks nasty?

No lol they’re fine. Although I still haven’t decorated or put the plants in yet or set up the other betta tank. But ONLY because I’ve been so focused on the eggs lately as well as getting ready for this week. I just vacuumed the entire first floor haha and set up the brooder

Remember a little while back that I was complaining about Daisy being broody again? Thankfully it didn't last long and she snapped out of it quickly. I was like, :ya:yesss:. Well, NOW my Ameraucana, Violet, has decided that now would be a lovely time to go broody. :he :barnie And Daisy saw this and said, Oh Hell Naw! If you are going to let her be broody (which I'm not) then by golly I am going to be broody too dangit! :smack So now I am fighting with them BOTH. I am just so frustrated at this point. Is it because of the decrease in light and egg production? Their bodies are like, ok, since I'm not producing eggs, now would be a good time to sit on a nest? They are barely 9 months old. My Australorps weren't like this. I'm just :idunno

Yes and no on the decrease in light and egg production.
Natural light is all I use...no artificial. Most of mine went back to laying after their molt. But 10 decided to try brooding so I limited their clutch to a trio of candled eggs. Five hatched chicks. Those first timers who heard babies abandoned their eggs and are helping raise the living chicks. If an experienced hen chose to take over the clutch, I let her try. The young hens are learning good parenting skills from the older mothers.

They have to hide the ball when they’re done playing because she is obsessed with it and will not chill lol she goes crazy :lau she’ll jump on you to get it or even steal it out of your pocket. :lau she’s very smart and does anything to get it haha they usually use a chuck it I think to throw it but I just use my hands but it’s the rubber chuck it ball so it doesn’t get too nasty. Well, does pick up dirt when wet but a couple pond throws fixes that :lau

She’s a Golden. Their other one likes the ball and will play fetch and stuff but doesn’t go insane like the younger one. :lau

They’re my friends dogs and I was walking them but took them separate aha and drove them to some cranberry bogs aha
Neither of my Rhodesians are fetchers or ball crazy. Their nature is "you threw it, YOU go get it".

I posted the recipe earlier so here is the angelfood cake.
