➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Not that many. Currently at our house we have 2 dogs, 2 ferrets, 1 bearded dragon, and 1 leopard gecko.
When I got married I "left" some of my animals with my parents for various reasons. Two dogs, my cat, and my chickens live on my parents property.
I thought you had more. I'm hoping to add to my reptiles. I'm still trying to get this little monster to eat :barnieIll try again tomorrow. He didn't even want a live mealworm or calci worms. But he's pooping every day so that must mean he's eating something. Maybe his salad I don't know

Probably still just settling in. He will get there!

You like your car...because it has a CD player. I am dead.

What!? :lau

I love my Forester. It is a great vehicle.

I have been eyeballing the Forester. I am pretty much convinced that would probably be my next purchase. Unless something else comes along to change my mind before I get one. Which could definitely happen. Like I said, I don't want a car note any time soon so it may be a while. I could never lease a car. That's all my parents ever did. My dad worked for GM and I swear he'd get a different car every couple of years. I can't fathom spending all that money and not own it. I guess renting a house or apartment is kind of the same. But I understand sometimes you do what you got to do and what will work for you. For me, it is just a personal preference.

I thought about getting the Forester, my dad really likes them, but idk, I didn’t really like them that much. I like the Outback. But I guess I need to give the Forester another chance haha I don’t really know why I didn’t like it. :lau

As for leasing, yeah, I don’t really love it but it is kind of nice being able to just trade it in and get a new car every few years and not have to deal with the maintenance or anything haha like that part. But idk if I’ll lease again or not. I kind of just want to buy the next one but we’ll see.

If we get another Subaru we won’t have to pay for the damages so my dad kind of wants another Subaru but it’s going to be my car, he recently got a RAV, and I really am not convinced I want another Subaru. But I also don’t really know if I like the RAVs. I thought for sure I wanted one and I do like Toyota but now idk.

I think I need to try a few different cars and do more research.

I have some minor stuff like a few scratches and some stains on the seat so getting another Subaru is probably smarter but I don’t want to get one just cause of that.

Mine is an older model, but it is awesome! Better clearance, off-road capability, and bad weather performance than most other small SUVs, but it turns on a dime. Also has great rear visibility unlike most cute-utes, and the gas mileage isn’t too bad for commuting.

It sounds amazing. I think you’re starting to convince me. :lau but idk.

And sorry. Still working on the novel thing.

Had a lot to say about this topic though :lau

Yup we had to downsize when we got married. Hard to be an animal addict on a budget.
Nope. Tad Cooper was the full name of the TV dragon, so it is her full name too
Oh duh, my mistake Miss Cooper.

I disagree haha. I have a soft spot for naming animals "human" names. I also like uncommon human names (within reason).
I would seriously consider naming a child Theia if it wasn't my dog.. and I had a child. :gig

For what it's worth I love the name Patrick for a dog. Luna is a cute girl's name too.

:lau I do think it can be cute sometimes!!

And honestly Theia is a great name!! Except now it’s your dog. :lau

And honestly I think you’re right. Patrick does have a nice ring to it.... and has infinite nicknames.... Pat, Patty, Patty Cake, Rick, Ricky, pat pat, PATRICK!! when I’m mad, etc.... :lau may have to use this!! But then I can’t use it on my kid or else that’d be a little weird. :lau

“Mommy why am I named after the dog!?” :lau

Same for if I used Luna. It is a pretty name. But I think for a girl I’d go something a little more traditional but idk.

Non traditional can be really cute too. Most of my cousin’s kids are very non traditional. :lau

Now you have me wanting to use non traditional names for both the kids and the animals lol

I tend not to be very creative with names.

I need to be more creative.

I almost named my dog Mason but I was overruled by my son and hubby. :smackSo he became Buster.

Awww Mason is a cute name!!

Umm my lizard has her own last name. That earns you a few odd looks at the vet’s office

That’s a lot!!

I’m jealous you have so many dogs!! I want at least 3-5 eventually haha

But for now I’ll just be happy to get one. :lau

I miss having a dog. :hit

Currently I have 4 goldfish, 2 betta fish, a cat, and 20 chickens if you count the babies :lau

:gig She doesn't share your last name?

She has her own special name! :D

Nope. Tad Cooper was the full name of the TV dragon, so it is her full name too

Plus your last name, right!? Cooper is totally her middle name. ;)

I wear a mask when coop cleaning. I like breathing at night.
No mask this time...had a 30 inch floor fan pulling he dust out the door.

It's how he brews his coffee. You put a filter in it and pour boiling water on it and let it drip through the filter
Had a thermos carafe drip coffee maker back in the 80s.

We need an air fryer recipe thread.
I can't think of something else to cook in it and I don't want to Google.
Just got a 7 qt air fryer from the girls for Christmas...came with a recipe book.

Anyone making a pot of black eyed peas for New Year's day?
Yep! Slow cook with onions garlic, chili pepper and a pork shank bone.

Want, yes. Need, no. If I had a reason, I would. Checked Amazon and about that price regularly. I do like the white. I've got a red La Creuset 1.5 quart that I use a bit. Holds 2 quail and 1 cup of quinoa. Delicious.
I'll pass, thanks for asking. :love

My Kroger had the Chinese ones and I passed. If the Lodge lasts long enough to drop to less than $35, get me all of them.

Black eyed peas, onions and garlic cooked all day with a pig's neck bone and served over sweet cornbread. I'm out of fresh jalapenos, so a double heaping tablespoon of store bought pickled peppers for taste.
I cook with cast iron almost every day.

Don't you worry I will use it if I go back and get it.
It won't sit in a box unused forever.

Define strange stuff please.

For me, strange is not being able to identify, by sight or taste, the pile of nondescript <pick a color> stuff on your plate.

An example, McDooDoo's chicken parts. They say the are chicken, but don't look or taste like it. Granted, it's been decades since I tried them, so I hope this has improved.

Second example are the little turd balls of "sausage" or supposedly "ground meat" on "pizza". Tastes rubbery and looks like turd balls.

Third example, why are Chinese restaurants always near pet stores? :hmm
