➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Good to know. I paid $35 @ for the geese and $15 for the gander at the feed store (special order), so that actually sounds like it might be in the ball park for unsexed. I’m not sure that (as a private party) I could command that kind of cash, but then I wouldn’t need to. I’d like to hatch goslings, but I don’t know that I want more geese. Not sure about eating them. I’ve never had goose. I suppose someone online knows how to cook one...
It isn't hard to vent sex goslings. You can sell them sexed. Some people like roast goose and some people don't. There have been some posts about different ways of cooking goose posted in the Any Home Bakers Here? thread.

Why hatch a billion? You can limit the eggs you hatch. I have only 4 in the bator right now.

Yeah I guess so but I don’t think I’d be able to control myself if I had free fertile eggs in the backyard. :lau

Plus if I am going to add more chickens, which I don’t even know if I should, I just think it’d be a lot easier for me to just order more rather than deal with the whole hatching process again as well as keeping a rooster.

Hatching was really stressful last time and I ended up with practically all boys. Plus having to wait 21 days.

Although I guess I could possibly let a broody hatch for me...

Idk.

I have to think about it I guess.

I should honestly probably just sell my incubator and maybe a few fish. Also have a random box of gerbil supplies and camera equipment. And a camera.

:celebrate :celebrate:hugs
Get that much needed rest after you hug those children!

Glad to see you listing the pros and cons.

More like trying to justify keeping them :lau

But yes, trying to this time. I know there’s probably more cons than pros and that I’m only doing it kind of out of impulse but I also think they’d make me happy so idk.

Maybe I should keep a rooster so I can satisfy my chick fever and then just sell them haha
