➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

They really are amazing birds. Can breed year round. Feed their young crop milk. Both parents do this. Their young don't beg for food but must be fed. All pigeons home. Some breeds better then others but they all do it.
Thanks for the information on them

I forgot...they use their beak like a straw to suck up water. Most birds have to dip in and tip their head back.

I have a love hate relationship with pigeons.
Most people around here hate them. There is an entire industry based on keeping them off of peoples roofs

There are a billion of them around here too.
Maybe a trillion.
I've wanted to catch a few to send to Bio.

I rent and my landlord has pigeons on the property where I live. He uses them to train bird dogs. (Doesn’t hunt but trains bird dogs.) Well— he’s old and can’t or won’t take the care they need. I try my best to care for them but it somehow became my job. I can’t do things how I would if they were mine so it’s frustrating. Because they don’t have a lot of human interaction they are scared and flighty like wild birds.

I wonder if I could ship them to her and they would find their way back down here?

At about 3 months old they learn their surroundings. So older then that and it’s a good chance they would home.
