I may be way off here, but don't you just want humidity and not "steam"? Actual steam inside the homemade incubator would be at 100%, wouldn't it? I dunno, I'm winging it here....
Great! The only downside to sponges is how often you have to re-wet them. Not fun.
I'm relying on this silly crappy Walmart humidity gauge thing to tell me if I am getting the numbers right.
This is what I was using.

It was working great but I have to be sitting there NON STOP to monitor the temperature because it did raise it.
I've now moved on to the sponges.
They are working!!!!
WOOT!
If you think you're crazy now--get a heeler--whole other level of crazy.Wait a minute...I have first dibs.
Hey, whatever you can get to works... I McGyver things all the time...
What if you have the humidifier lower then run the hose in the bottom or lower side of the incubator you made, put through that, steam rises to it will just flow into the egg chamber. Just a thought..![]()

30ish minutes ago I was at 27% humidity.Let see how this does. I got the sponges wet and put them on the bottom. Was I supposed to put them in a dish first? View attachment 1311592

Yes do this!!! Much smaller hole that if it doesn't work as planned you can fix easier.
This whole time when I think I need to stop the temperature from rising. (playing wafer) I have been moving the light.
Did you know I could have been just twisting the knob to turn it off?
Oh my....can I possible get any dumber?
ROFL!!I'll give you credit for one thing.....if you can post that question on this thread you're braver than I thought!![]()
