40% is ok, 45-60% is better... It is coming up...it is fine to leave it in...30ish minutes ago I was at 27% humidity.

What wattage is the light bulb? You just might be able to tweak the temperature from the higher spikes at night with a lower watt bulb.
I have used 25 watt all the way to 75 watt, for a hatcher and brooder, rather have lower heat than to high at this stage, since momma duck does get off the nest to feed and drink.
