I agree, they would never adapt to living in a hutch. I have a buuny living under the loft and it went inside a small dog cage that had some seed in it. It panicked when it saw me approach and couldn't find it's way out. I was glad it didn't have a heart attack. We thought the fox got it a few days ago and were relieved to see it again, stretched out in the sun totally relaxed.yes

Yea, but not in round bales like you would with hay. Hay is a lot more common down here as it comes from grass, not leftover wheat, and you can use it for bedding AND food.
I agree with this. Baby rabbits are a pain in the butt to care for. Mom is probably very close and giving you the stink eye lol.
I suppose it could be the mother, but why didn't she make her nest under the loft where it's protected. It's a mystery to me how those babys survived in the planter - exposed to torrential downpours and days of extreme heat recently!
