➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I'd be in deep doo Doo if I needed to escape on a helicopter.
I would be too sacred to get in it!
I just caught up on your flash lighting of the balut eggs! Lol! I love it! I would have done the same. You have better self control than me though... I probably would have bought the whole tray.

I’m not surprised that the eggs are alive. I found my broody hen kicked off her nest a couple times for very large parts of the day. One evening, just last week, I went out to close up and the eggs were cool to the touch- as she had switched to a different nest of fresh eggs. I put her back in the correct box and this morning we have a new little chick. :love We’ll see what the rest of her eggs do.

I can imagine the balut supplier and sellers try to get those eggs to the shop as soon as they are “ready” for eating. They wouldn’t want to sell truely rotting balut eggs.

Good luck!! I’ll try to keep up this time around :pop
I am surprised these are alive because this is the hundredth time I have went back to buy balut eggs and ALL of the others, besides the first two, have been dead.
I really though I got extremely lucky the very first time.
Me thinks I got lucky again this time too.

You are adapted to it, you FREAK!! besides I'm an old person. :gig
I'm going out there to tend the birds soon ...if you never hear from me again....:lau

Seriously, I have a method. Go out for a few minutes, come in go out a bit longer, come in, rinse and repeat until you are tolerating the temps. Works for heat or cold by priming the body to work with you.:)
I will probably lay out in the heat again today.
Working on my Mexican coloring!

Go buy more!!! Those might be alive too! I’ll send you my spare incubator lol.
My problem is I can't keep ducks.
If I knew someone that could take unlimited number of little ducklings I probably would go back and buy more.

Also.. @EquiSally I found out that the eggs come in from Dallas. I knew already they there were delivered on Thursdays but assumed they came from Chinatown (other side of Houston) not all the way from Dallas.

So glad the eggs are alive!

@PirateGirl I live in wildfire country too. It's terrifying this time of year. There is a fire burning about 20 miles away right now, busy destroying some cattle ranchers' livelihoods. I think they got some containment overnight, but it's going to be a hot and windy day. This time of year, I'm always on the scanners, trying to be prepared. I cannot believe they still allow private fireworks out here.
Last year this time I think I was following a few big Cali fires....unreal how many houses burned last year. I had never seen/paid attention to the fire before that.
It's horrible.
Gosh I hope you continue to watch the smoke from a distance.
I can't even imagine.

I mean if you ship the duckies to me... Wait my friend wants medium size ducks of any kind. What breed are the balutties? My friend doesn’t want huge ones like Pekins.

We have no clue what the balutties are/will be.
