➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Power just went out with all of my eggs in the incubator :th
I covered it with many layers of towels and blankets. Now I :fl

My chicks in the brooder are piled on top of each other
For future reference...I keep several packages of hand warmers for keeping the incubators and brooder warm when power goes out. In the brooder, wrap the hand warmer in a cloth....direct contact can burn tender chickie skin.

@NanaKat I have three live duckie eggs.
Yes, and they appear to be different developmental stages based on the size of the air sacks.

Bumblefoot is an infection. Can be cause by fifty different things. Sometimes yes a splinter can cause it.
. For several to have it, could be a rough surfaced roost. Or a limb. Or a dried poop build up on the roost.

I'm sweating here...am I going to have a duckie tonight?
If you have a tru internal pip, you can hear the baby chirping...they don't quack yet. You will hear tapping sounds. You might need to make a teeny tiny safety hole in the shell. It can take 24 hours to several days for the duckling to make it out of the shell once internal pip happens.

Now back to reading.
