Bright fresh blood? Depends how recently it died. If it’s fresh blood and wanting to flow out then I would think there’s a chance it’s alive.

Don’t dump it just yet.. maybe oil up that membrane so you can see what’s happening?

That looks like pretty fresh blood to me.. if it’s not alive then it must have died very recently. The blood would be darker and more coagulated.
Of course I’ve never hatched an egg before, I’m just guessing from blood experience. Could be way off.

I took it out of the bag and put it back in the bator. There is movement. Boy am I sick.

Remember chicks have developed experimentally with NO shell. Coconut oil is recommended for keeping membrane moist.
