➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I think I will just monitor this thread. Very interesting, but I have never hatch chicks without a broody. In other words I have never hatched chicks (the hen did). LOL So I don't think I have anything of value to add but can't wait to see what happens.
Thanks Ursh!
We miss you!

My problem is I don't know just how off this ghetto electric gauge is.
Can I assume it's off just a little since the thermometer part is off just a little?
The therm is off by about 2 degrees.

You can assume absolutely nothing! You have to calibrate it. got an oral digital fever thermometer? Put that in a cup of water that reads about 100*. If the other thermometer that you are testing is submersible, put that in the water too. After giving time for both thermometers to stabilize, you then compare them. Say your digital reads 101.2. And say your thermometer being tested reads 101.7. You can then deduce that your second thermometer reads .5* high. So, if your target temp in your bator is 102 at egg surface (target for still air) then you want to have your thermometer read 102.5 which is really 102!

If the thermometer that you want to use is not submersible, then you have to fudge with your digital thermometer in the bator, which is much harder to do b/c every time you open the bator the temp goes down, and the digital don't stay on long enough to get a good accurate reading. so, I calibrate submersible thermometers, then use a big one of those in the bator to calibrate the non submersible.

No goofball you are a BYCer. Aliens are the non Bycers...all the people reading along without an account here.

OMG! I'M A GOOFBALL???? I HAD NO IDEA!!!! :lau

wait wait...
My regular glass old school looking thermometer is good.
That black square looking thermometer sucks...the humidity gauge is part of the black square.

How the heck can I figure out how off that is (the humidity level)without having another to compare it to?
I probably need to go to nasty Walmart and buy another humidity thing right?

No brinseas are not perfect but damn it I would have thought the temp thingy would be decent :rant. As for garrus, thane and zaeed they are characters in the mass effect games lol
What's mass effect game mean?
I know Minecraft and COD.
