➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

@KikisGirls There were veins with S and W when you first looked at them.
WAIT.
I need to go back and look at my pics.
I am thinking I saw air cell and darkness only.
I don't know if I even took pictures at the very beginning with S and W.
Not until after I warmed them up did I take pics.
I think.
I need to think.
Give me a few minutes.

I'm thinking there should be veins as well. There were veins in your Day 1 candling picture from before.

The Man may need fresher balutties. Don't people know they are supposed to be ALIVE.
Yes..but I didn't figure out how to candle for a while.
A few hours I think.

Also remember that these are chicken eggs not duck eggs so they might not look exactly the same as S & W did at this stage of development. I hope this works. My other question, once you candle them again, and label them, is if there are any obvious differences from one egg to the next? Do you think all of your new eggs are on the same age of development?
I'll get back to you on all of this.

Not to be a debbie downer, but, I've candled chicken eggs before, and I recall seeing veins. Unfortunately, hese eggs look like this:

Thank you.
If operation chicken balut doesn't work it will be ok.
I still think I need to wait til they warm up to check again.
I took the eggs out of the bag took one quick photo and put it down in the bator.
I didn't pay attention to crap right then..just did everything real quick.

There is someone who uses an aquarium heater in a frame to keep it from banging around when she refills but I can't remember who.
BTW, I wouldn't use an aquarium heater because the lowest setting is generally around 70F and they're just not built to run nonstop for months. Plus, most have warnings on the package about maintaining the water level within parameters and my whole reason for a 5g bucket is so I don't have to mess with water every day. I like being able to go away for the weekend.

Operator thinks the temps look good.
