➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I've broken broody hens before by removing them from the nest several times a day. I pick them up and set them outside in the morning and a couple of times throughout the day. At bedtime, I pick them up and put them on the roost. I also make sure to collect all eggs promptly. After 3 or 4 days my hens have lost interest. If that doesn't work, google "broody buster box."

Okay thank you! Clucking can be nice, but her constant clucking is getting a little old!
I’ve had a rather determined broody that I’ve broken twice now. I collect eggs promptly and remover her from the nest. In the end removed or blocked off nest boxes and tried to get her outside and moving. Basically distract her. It took a few days but it worked.
If all else fails a broody box. A dog crate with no bedding but food and water usually works. Leaving her in the coop helps keep her integrated. There are other additions (or would it be subtractions) that people use. See what works for your girl.
You don’t want to wait too long. She will brood eggs and sacrifice her own health to do it.

It took all night!!! :barnie

4 wiggling, squirming, little balls of warm snuggleness. Full of puppy breath. And they squeak when you sit on them!

Babies!!!

4? Mom looks exhausted! (And what’s with her foot? Extra toes?)

Yep, 6 toes on the hind feet. This is a stray we are midwifing for. Momma and maybe one puppy accounted for. Looking for 3 other homes! <hint, hint, hint> Ready for adoption in 6-8 weeks. Missed Easter puppies by that much!

We are trimming the toe nails as possible, but she REALLY doesn't like it. Been a while since she had a pedicure.
