➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Pretty sure Silkies originated in China... where they are enjoyed for their beauty AND eaten.

How about asking about fermented feed? I've been curious about it but can't wrap my head around the guesswork involved and worry over fermentation vs. spoilage.
I feed FF!

I have sooo got to get some of them!!! Which are best in the Pacific North West? We have 2 seasons: Winter and construction. Hardly any humidity at all and are at about 7,000 feet above sea level. Ik sometimes those things matter with different breeds. I also understand local is best. But I can tell my chicken guy I want some. Can you imagine serving the black meat to kids?!:barnie

I must do this!!! Seriously, but hella funny!!! :gig:lau:gig:yesss:
The black meat is viewed as more healthful/medicinal in the Asian market particularly. You can explain this to your kids.:lau

If you plan on eating them, an ayam cemani in the US would be an expensive meal!

The other two mentioned jus

t have black skin, I think.
I don't have time to read right now.

I have a vet appointment in 30 mins.

This vet is not a chicken vet but he does test chicken poop for me!
I am trying to think of chicken questions to ask him...just to see if he has done any homework.
Can you think of anything I can ask?
Ask him how he/she would treat 'sour crop' ?
or worming or coccidia....?

Not that my 3-y-o would care! Lol Nor would the tweens. They already know everything. Lol They, however, would most certainly try it! We've raised them to try everything once without complaining about not liking it. Give it a fair chance. But it would still be funny! And I'm sure taste better than the black eggs from MUCH earlier in this thread!!!
