➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Any one ever have a 7+ year old hen who has been laying a few eggs a year for a couple of years start laying 2 or 3 eggs a week for 4 months? My old Lady EE started laying blue eggs again on Christmas Day and has continued to lay 2 or 3 a week since with no signs of stopping. Little pea comb remains bright red.
There is no reason for that not to happen. There are plenty of ovum left in her. I wonder what sparked up her hormones?

I am not sure, because nothing was different around Christmas time, it wasn't until a few weeks ago that two of my girls went broody with in 1 week of each other, other wise I would guess that may have prompted it.

That is very possible!

Great duck embryo photos!

I try to stick to a 'What Would Grandma Eat' diet. In other words, real sugar, whole milk, food with ingredients I can pronounce & identify. Would grandma know what 'maltodextrin' is? Nope, not going in my mouth.

It makes my pediatrician insane that I only buy full fat dairy, but its the cleanest.
Right on!

I'm not going to stop until I get good live eggs again.
Hopefully this week!
:yesss:
Remember I have duck eggs...they are fertile, therefore alive.
