I love Rhodesian Ridgebacks as well!!! Except for The Spaniel, I've always gotten older pound dogs as they so badly need homes. And, I swear, they make the best, most loyal dogs. But, one day I want a purebred dog again. The only question is whether its going to be a Ridgeback, Rottweiler or German Shepard.

I feel the same way. I have two purebred Golden’s my parents bought years ago. Everything after that has been a rescue. My collie mutt actually has a little ridge back, it’s very cute and funny looking on a long haired dog.
 
I'm tired. Today was the big bi-annual complete coop clean-out. All bedding removed, coop, roosts, nesting boxes and attached brooder, thoroughly washed and scrubbed down. All the time, my poor little hen Gimpy was practically beating the door down to get inside to lay her egg. Somethings just can't wait!

As soon as I was done, but while the coop was still soaking wet, I moved in a little extra nest box I had, put some straw in it, and let Gimpy back in. She was a little freaked out at the empty, wet coop, but eventually found the box and made her deposit.

Now all the hens are locked out of the brooder space, which is going to make for a lot of fighting over the roosts in the main coop tonight. Half of them taken to sleeping on a shelf in the brooder.

Then, Monday, the new little chicks leave the basement and go into the brooder. :yesss: No more stinky basement!

I just adore the boxer breed.

I do love all dogs though.
Even fake ones.
