AwE!Went on vacation, came home to a doe in the yard with a newborn fawn
Kids are calling the little one Spindle because of the spindly legs it looked so awkward teetering around on.

Well, we got home Saturday and have seen them daily. She kept the baby close for the first couple days but now it hides and waits for her while she eats everything in sight. My poor hostas...AwE!
You have a milk drinker!
Will momma stay close by?
I've been seeing Canadian goslings everywhere - so. much. cute! There is a pond near where I work that has Canada Geese every summer, they have babies right now and it's adorable!!
Love baby deer
Something is getting some of our birdsFirst noticed our little tailless roo we called Little Demon Roo (crazy solid black eyes) went missing. Yesterday noticed our Shamu was missing, then this morning fiance noticed Poot the Goose wasn't around, and our female goose Goot, was running in circles making a ton of noise. I thought I'd seen Poot this morning, but wasn't sure - still half asleep when I checked on bunny beans and water for the outside brooders.
The neighbors lost all of theirs to a bobcat (reason why they gave us their 2 coops), we're wondering if it made it's way to our flocks now. Going to see if we can lure it out, and also will be locking up our favorite roos (planned to sell a few this weekend, and planned what ones we want to keep for breeding our hens when they're old enough). One of our roos has decided to be a Garage Rooster (he used to roost on the fiance's brush guard, and even rode through the field on it one evening), I think he is smarter than we give him credit for - if he's locked inside, no bobcat snatching him! He was laying near the new chick brooder this morning when I left.

Hope you figure out what's getting to your flock. I had a bobcat get into my coop last winter and killed over half my flock in a matter of minutes.
Fiance also texted to say 1 chick from batch #2 has hatchedMore chicklets!! Was glad to see staggering a hatch didn't completely fail. There's a few more due to hatch today/tomorrow. This weekend we're hoping to get a flat of fertile eggs, if they have any breeds we're looking for, or quail, and try a full single hatch (after the 3rd batch hatches Monday).
