It's not easy to guess...especially since I have no clue how they have been incubating before I go them...etc.
The list could go on forever.

Didn't he look behind the other two? They were almost certainly started in the same incubator on the same day. Being less active and behind developmentally, I think he would have been a quitter regardless.

Actually him and this egg number two, that is still slow poking around with the internal pip, both looked behind compared to the egg that has always had a much bigger air cell (the one that is externally pipped now).

Starting on day one one egg looked to be further along.
The other two looked to be the same.
Dead guy is one of the twins.

That is probably what happened, the poor thing really didn’t have much of a chance being positioned like that.
