➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I think I know why the broody killed her chick. She’s not acting like her normal broody self, I think she sat for too long and was going to give up. She still has her fake egg and she has left it several times already this morning. It was just poor timing unfortunately. :(
Are we going to let it slide this time?
The murder?

I wouldn't worry too much. One of my quail could not get upright and would only be able to be on his side, I waited to see if he would get better on his own and within a little over 24 hours his feet were completely fine. However, they don't always heal on their own and you might have to correct it yourself but I would wait to see
Thanks.
I am thinking it will straighten out on it's own.
I'm thinking I have a few days before I need to start worrying.
I think.

Yes, 99% of my flock is all bantams. I just love miniature fluff balls....must be something from my childhood....Tribbles? Muppets? I live by a large creek bed that empties into a State Park pond...lots of mallard ducks, geese, swans....but I never considered having a duck. I could handle a small breed. I have a small water depression on my property and of course there is always a child's swimming pool (presently brooding 3 sultan and 2 buff silkie chicks...well was brooding, they are running everywhere now like wild women)
I used to think I would NEVER become a hatcher person.
I also use to laugh out loud when I was told I needed bantams.

I'm so thinking I need fake everythings right now.
