I think nutrition is top priority when it comes to keeping a flock healthy.
That and biosecurity are my top two favorite things to learn about.
I haven't made it to chicken genetics for breed yet.

It could be normal.
I do not know.
Is it moving around yet?
My Pekin duck hen lays an egg every day. The Cayuga cross do also. The Pekin ducklings are a golden yellow. The Saxony duckling is a little more brownish, but the Saxony /Pekin babies have been a honey gold.I voted white layer bc I think @debid & @PirateGirl both made great points. Whoever is selling this eggs is probably using a commercial layer to get the most productivity. That's my reasoning anyway, but I still kind of think it could be one of each. I mean they may raise pekin too so who's to say a pekin egg didn't get thrown in with the baluts. Just basing that theory in th significant size diff. I think they may both look very similar as babes.
. My Seabright rooster is named Ansel (Adams).DC (da chickens) are stalking me at my back door for treats!
