➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

OH NO!!!! :hit:hit:hitI wish you could keep them longer!

Bad news, it didn't. I my brother was in charge while I was at softball and he saw the breathing stop, he opened the membrane to see if he could find the break but it already died. He also said that there was no liquid in there. When I took the chick out of the egg, he had a really squishy head that had blood under and on top of the skin. His head was where the dark spot was on the membrane so that explains the spot, blood must have gotten onto the membrane. Also, he was huge, most likely caused by high temp while my mom was watching the incubator when I was in Arkansas (since I got home only a day or two before the chicks started to hatch.)

:hugs

Laaaame! They would be in my bathtub TONIGHT.
We’d be having a pool party as we speak.
Tell your ducklings to hit me up for some REAL fun.
Oh, man - like a number and nasty message on the bathroom stall, "You wanna get wet and filthy? Hit me up for a good time in the bathtub..."

Hahaha! I'd like to know who hasn't used the "wrong" bathroom if the need was powerful enough!
Once went up to lake Cushman in the summer rock jumping. There is gas station on the way out of town. At the time, it only had a Handy can (ew) and that thing was HEAPING :sick. I squatted between the can and the dumpster instead. I'm sure that I was entirely sober and well within my legal rights to do so.

Sometimes when you're "adventuring" there aren't exactly "designated bathroom" areas. So... I mean... ??? :idunno A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do right?

I’m so sorry! :hugs I know how rough it is losing a little one.

They shipped don't worry.
They will be at your post office the second it opens.
Are you going to be there waiting at 7 am?
No.
I know, I know. Everyone waits outside, calls in advance, picks them up ASAP, etc...
But my mother is 100% sure that they will not be put on a delivery truck and hauled around all day. She swore up and down that they’ll be delivered by the post lady (in her normal sized car) by 10am, apparently that’s what this post office does.

I’m try and call them at 8:30 when they open and make sure of that. If they’re gonna be delivered by 10 then I don’t really want to make the 45 minute round trip, especially since contractors are gonna be in my house in the morning.

OMG NEVER MIND. They emailed me and it didn’t come through!
They shipped today. Ignore me. I’m freaking out over nothing haha. I saved all my anxiety for the last second.

Goodnight all! I really hope I have 8 healthy chicklets in the morning. :fl

They never emailed us that they shipped. At least I don’t think they did? I’ll check tomorrow.

Post lots of pictures of the new crew! :thumbsup

I can actually sleep tonight! :yesss: Goodnight all!

Our post office is a USUAL 5 minute trip there and USUAL 5 minute trip back but it took me almost an hour and a half to get the chicks home because of trains. :he

Too true.

A couple years ago we went skiing and my dad and I were on this one isolated trail with no one around. I was absolutely busting and we were pretty far from the bottom so we stopped by the tree line. I carefully unhooked my boots, made sure no animals were watching, found a covered spot in the forest..

When I finished and tried to pull my pants up, I lost my balance and fell backwards into a 5 ft high fluffy snowdrift. Fresh snow in all sorts of areas, down my pants, up my jacket.
Biggest shock of my life LOL.
Gave my dad a heart attack from the way I screamed.
