➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Just waiting for it to be late enough to call a lady I know as Kathy Chicken. I met her at the hospital on the North shore of the lake, she had on a chicken shirt and she gave me her phone number, saying she would take my cockerels if I couldn't find homes for them. I am praying she meant what she was saying and will treat them with love and care. I will really miss my big blue cockerel, he is so beautiful already and would love to keep him.:hit

A very grumpy post office lady just called and told me to pick my chicks up :celebrate
Guess they had my number all along lol.

Everything is ready. Now to find a ride.
Excuse the mess. I’ve been running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. Back run wall is secured with hardware cloth until they are older.

Ideal probably wrote your # on the box:D.
Can't wait to see them!:caf

For future reference, go to your nearest PO. Ask them when the truck gets in. Tell them you are expecting live chicks and when. They will give you the "will call" address. I picked mine up at dark thirty before work. The PO will answer their door for live chicks before they open.

My Post office is 20 minutes away from the house. The other post office is 12. I go to the closer one.

@KikisGirls Lowe's has a 10 gallon concrete mixing tray that works great for a swimming pool (or a feeder big enough for everyone to get into). Works well. Then get a paint roller metal drip wiper for the ramps. Or stack some bricks up. Toss some corn on the bottom for bobbing practice.

@Tesumph congratulations! The run looks wonderful!

@theuglyduckling - hope yours arrive soon & safe!

@Ursuline Chick Best wishes for finding homes.

Have a wonderful day in all your endeavors!

That's the worst part about hatching. I'm going to have 5 or 6 cockerels out of my 7 chicks (really horrible luck there). I'm going to keep one as a back-up/replacement for Duke. Unless I can find someone I know and trust who wants one of the others, the rest are going to the big freezer camp in the sky.

Left a message for this Karen lady, if I don't hear back from her, I may have to start sending the most vocal to freezer camp. Will have to find something for DD to do, or she wont eat them. They are about Cornish hen size. LOL Our luck was not any better, at least half or better are cockerels. :th
