Cotton ball raptors are doing great and growing like weeds.

The barred rocks are the cutest little things. They’re the tiniest of the bunch and are so sweet and gentle.

The EE gender suspicion continues. He’s the bravest and biggest by far. Note the posture here, he’s the only one who randomly stretches up to survey everything.

The little welsummer is absolutely gorgeous, her eyes make me melt. I won’t dwell on it but it really is a shame her sweet sister didn’t make it.

Right? Her eyeliner is so striking. When I tap to get they’re attention, she’s the first to come running looking for the bug I’m “pecking.” She seems the most intelligent so far.

I’m having a blast dissecting their personalities, and they’re only 3 days old lmao.

Yasss. I can’t wait for popcorn babes.

Boy that’s relatable. :caf
I’ve definitely been in a “crawl in a quiet hole and don’t talk to me for a week” mood lately.
Wish I could live in the brooder with the raptors.
The only thing I hate worse than internet problems (LOL)
is having people show up uninvited.
Having to entertain while I am trying to get my BYC on is nuts.

Have you seen this...
...quoting from Durham Hens UK...
upload_2018-7-14_17-37-18.jpeg
You can tell whether chicks are male or female when they hatch, e.g. Gold Tops and Blacktails. Welsummers are not sex-linked or auto-sexing but they can be sexed at day old. Males have a stripe across the eyes but it is less well defined than the females.
....unquote
This seemed to be the case with EEs too - the female had a sharper, more defined eye-stripe and the male more blurry. So i think that little guy stretching his neck could be a cockrel.

I disagree.
I think this is a female.

It's the yellow EE that I think is going to be a boy.
