➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

It was wood ducks I was thinking of.
Look up “wood duck house,” they have a couple around the lake as part of the wildlife tax exemption.

I also have a pair of wood ducks that lives around my farm property. I’ve seen them many times, swimming with my ducks. We built a box year before last, something built a nest in it, but it was some kind of bird, not the wood ducks lol!
The wood duck pair did return this year, but I have not seen any ducklings with them. The males are outstanding!

I do too have cast iron! :tongue
Stomping my foot.

I have certain pots/pans for certain dishes.
This one is made in stainless.
I'm glad you own cast iron. Why do you own stainless? Anything stainless can do, cast iron does better. I dumped the stainless and the Teflon coated crap that only lasts a year and the kids got upset. I told them to get their own house. They don't complain much. :)

Google Wood Ducks. Look at the drakes. :love Even with their red eyes.

Properly trained, children, like dogs, are a joy to be around. Untrained and unmannered children should not be tolerated. These become the spoiled adults that no one likes until they learn their manners. Some never do.

Best thing you can do is buy a dog training book for new parents. It will teach them how to care for their new child. Be fair. Be consistent. And heap them with love and praise. Few people realize that dog training classes aren't for the dogs. They are already smart.

When my children would bring home field trip requests for parental signatures, under the special notes, I would write "needs lots of hugs." They stopped being embarrassed in high school.

Not a stupid question at all. I also wonder this as I was considering hatching some out next year. I know a dude who does have some in pens, and from what I understand, there are a couple breeds that do really well with confinement though not all will. That's neat that you have a bunch of wild ones running around! Do you know what kind?
No idea! They're just wild all over boise and way too fast to get a good look.

totally agree :clap
I am a rotten aunt.. well I did pay for their junior college, but otherwise I suck as an aunt.

I dislike childen .. well until they can do chores... but my brother didn't teach his kids to do chores. He dumped his youngest off for a couple of weeks when my dad died and mom moved back... like I didn't have enough to deal with :he... she was 15 and supposed to help.. I asked her to chop veggies for supper.. she was surprised I let her handle a knife .. mine you my brother gave me my first knife at 9 or so ... I asked him and he said she was a clutz and would cut herself.. she didn't. ..
she didn't know how to trim limbs, use a riding lawn mower,,, to clean she would put anything on the counter into the nearest drawer or cupboard.... my mom had macular degeneration and stuff where she could find it... the niece didn't know where she had put RX much less anything else. :rant
Yes, I find the lack of responsibility that many kids have now to be a disturbing trend. Don't get me wrong - I've met a few great kids, but a majority are awful spoiled brats. Might also be where I live :hmm
The boy is the best kid. Always wants to help his auntie and I was one of three things he was grateful for (in his Thanksgiving art project). Up there with dinner and Pokemon; I'm honored. He also knows a lot of Chinese and criticizes me for not being able to pronounce words properly. Either way, he is my sole heir. I tell my sister this regularly :) Then I tell her that her horrible daughter gets NOTHING!
