➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I hope the weather stays nice for y'all.
:woot
I am sure it will be fun!

Thank you! Yes me too. The littles haven't stopped talking about it all day. They know it's getting close. So did you grow the turmeric yourself? I've only used it ground and bought from the store. I was googling how to store it and it said you can freeze the roots. I wonder how you could go about making your own powder. Dehydrate then ground it up mortar and pestle style perhaps. I have no idea if that's right just seems like it could work.

It is sold for like 8 dollar a pound at my store.
I got a bag full...close to 4 pounds of it for 99 cents.
I just couldn't pass it up.
I have no clue how I will use it all before the roots rot. There is no way I will use it all before it rots.

I've been meaning to look it up today to see about freezing it whole of if I should peel it first or what.
Thanks!

Bunny Update:

Cat got one. :hit So there may be 2 left alive. There were 4 confirmed the first day (maybe more I couldn't see). 2 confirmed deaths (I buried them). Soooo... we may have 2 survivors. We'll see.

We had a big rainstorm for the first time this summer. Cat got caught out on it. He was huddled on the porch when we got home. There's about 3 inches of standing water in the duck run. They are loving it for the moment but I'll need to address it tomorrow afternoon.

Do not ask Google for baby lamb pictures.
I got lost there for a minute.
Then definitely don't google baby alpacas. I'm warning you... Little ewoks!

I've got enameled cast iron for the tomato dishes. Works well. I heard that the stainless also leaches with acidic foods like tomatoes. Chrome as well as nickel and iron. Probably not enough to kill us. Enamel is glass and really doesn't leach.

Rocky Mountain Goat. Did it taste like goat? We are eating antelope. Specifically, Scimitar Horned Oryx. They rank right up there with elk. :love:drool:love:drool

Puts the poor beeves to shame.
