➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Then definitely don't google baby alpacas. I'm warning you... Little ewoks!

I've got enameled cast iron for the tomato dishes. Works well. I heard that the stainless also leaches with acidic foods like tomatoes. Chrome as well as nickel and iron. Probably not enough to kill us. Enamel is glass and really doesn't leach.

Rocky Mountain Goat. Did it taste like goat? We are eating antelope. Specifically, Scimitar Horned Oryx. They rank right up there with elk. :love:drool:love:drool

Puts the poor beeves to shame.

Didn't know that about stainless. Well poot... I guess I've got more research to do before my next cookware investment.

Oh and I'm SO with you in baby alpacas-actually alpacas in general. They are amazing!

I CANNOT eat lamb! It looks delicious and I have no doubt it is but that's where I draw the line :barnie. No offense and certainly not mad at anyone who does but I just can't do it. They're just too cute for that.:hit
No offense taken at all :)
You do realize that most lamb does not come from the babies, right? They (Spring lamb) are fully grown young sheep (usually butchered at around five months or so).
They are most certainly cute, though I find goats cuter and would have a hard time eating a domestic goat. If I raised it myself, NEVER! Not unless I was starving and had no other choice.

Bunny Update:

Cat got one. :hit So there may be 2 left alive. There were 4 confirmed the first day (maybe more I couldn't see). 2 confirmed deaths (I buried them). Soooo... we may have 2 survivors. We'll see.

We had a big rainstorm for the first time this summer. Cat got caught out on it. He was huddled on the porch when we got home. There's about 3 inches of standing water in the duck run. They are loving it for the moment but I'll need to address it tomorrow afternoon.
My cat brought me a bunny last night. Luckily unharmed, but terrified. Cat stayed inside and I released little dude in the pig pen, where it's safe from evil house cats.

No, I have no knowledge of sheet farming or when lambs are butchered. I think adult sheep are too cute to eat too though so it doesn't matter what age they are. Lambs/ sheep are off the table for me... literally and figuratively.

I am not really all that into it. Can handle a couple dishes, but honestly, I don't care for the taste. I grew up with both goats and sheep. Goats for the milk and sheep to keep the grass down. We had an old, fat sheep named Annie. She gave birth out in the field one night and left him out there. I found him in the morning, nearly dead and we brought him inside. My mom warmed him slowly in the sink. He lived and we named him Willie. He was allowed in the house and would jump all over the furniture. He was so cool! I will never forget when my parents sold him. It broke my heart because I knew where the males went even though I was just a little kid. I refused to eat lamb for years after that. So, I feel ya :hugs
