➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

To be fair, the first time I saw someone refer to that skin lady I had never even heard of doctor who and it really weirded me out. Without context, it's... something. Not sure what.
It's NUTS!

I might exaggerate it a tad but still...I would recommend a Virkon spray down before you get back into your car at the fair and again the second you get home.

I didn't used to be so nutty about diseases.
After learning about them I think it is best to do all you can to avoid ever having to deal with one.
Prevention is key!

Preach sista! I'm with you!

Oh wow! They play dirty in the world of poultry shows! Yikes! Good to know!
They play dirty in the world of any animal showing, to be honest. It’s a problem with showing dogs, cattle, even rats.
It is very easy to loose sight of the animal and just see ribbons and dollar signs.

You are not exaggerating.
Some people are just ignorant, the kind that drags their month old puppy all over petsmart and dog parks and is shattered when it gets parvo and dies.
Personally I believe, at least to some extent, every breeder knows it’s selfish to bring sick animals to a show and a good amount will do it anyway.

Hehe. I make a lot of people mad with that opinion.

I tried to give it a go.. the first season was so STUPID though. I couldn’t even get through it. Then I watched half an episode of one of the later seasons and still didn’t see the appeal at all.
Not to mention how beat into the ground it is.
I didn’t watch Star Wars for the longest time because I already knew everything about it and everyone was so nutty about how perfectly fantastical it was. I hate that sort of stuff.

Granted, it wouldn’t be popular if it wasn’t good in some way. I’m absolutely sure if I stuck with it and watched it all I wouldn’t hate it, but I can almost guarantee I would get through it and go “hm.. so that’s it.”
Exactly like Star Wars.

And that’s my “over-hyped cult classic” rant. :sick

I'm with you, I never really understood the appeal of either of these. Even if I wanted to get into Dr. Who, it's too long and has too many inside jokes I don't get. Star Wars has always been boring to me.

Cassandra. And that was only the SECOND episode. You can’t fairly judge a series based on two episodes.

I feel like it should be the other way around. The first few episodes should always be the best. That way you hook your viewers and get them invested in the characters. I quit reading books if I can't enjoy them. If the first ten chapters/episodes are garbage I'm not going to sit through them just to get to the "good" ones.
