Oh.....chicken talk, hatching , and now home decor...be still my wittle heart...avid crafter and painter of many things...I did a similar effect on my China hutch, you paint, let dry than sand. I did a lot less than the look you want, your base than shows thru. Basicly on edges and where normal ware would occur. I did not seal mine but I have done that on other pieces with wax. Also if you hit the chalk paint with a heat gun when wet it will create bubbles that when sanded will show more under wood coloring and give your piece a more aged look.View attachment 1472403 View attachment 1472404

Pretty!

Which one?
13 Reasons Why. My teenage twin sister in laws were raving on about it a year or so ago about how deep and amazing and “important” it was so I gave it a go.
That show made me nauseous. I really don’t like it’s message one bit.
It's soooo bad!!!! I do like Batman sans the George Clooney one (worst thin lipped Batman known to mankind) and the other two I mentioned. Otherwise, I just can't handle it. Terrible CGI, terrible acting, terrible story, etc.
I respect you. Change my mind.
I can absolutely see why someone wouldn’t like comic book movies. Marvel has become lazy (ant-man, ugh) and everything is running together, it’s obviously just a cash cow now (the entire avengers series). DC has had some nice gritty gems but seems to randomly miss the mark horribly (Batman v Superman, GAG).
I grew up reading comics so it’s a nostalgia thing for me, especially X-men. The X-men movies are for me what Star Wars is for everything else lol. I’m planning on rewatching them for the fourth time soon.

In terms of actual good movies that deserve the hype and had some soul put into it I’d say Logan and The Dark Knight would be up your alley. I think Guardians of the Galaxy did quite a good job of making a non cheesy comedy (unlike the new Thor, cringe..)
Ooo wine brain!

We need to get Tes jibber jabbering. We all need a good chuckle right?
@Tesumph how did I miss the wine brain part? Don't let it stop you! I could use a good laugh after the day I've had.
I didn’t have enough to get over the “I’m making a total fool of myself” paranoia.
I put myself to bed lmao.
@Tesumph i meant to tell you I agreed to let my daughter have a gerbil today. I know they're social but I'm only doing 1. Anyway it's not a rat but I thought you might get a kick out of that news.
Is now a bad time to tell you I don’t even like gerbils? Hehe.
Be prepared for some neurotic behavior keeping it by itself, social rodents will literally die of depression. Gerbils are also notoriously bad chewers, check the plastic parts of cage every day for escape attempts. They’re not chill like hamsters, just warning you. That being said, best of luck! They’re cute little nutters.

I'm still behind. But have to go clean the hen house...our last "cool" day at 99 degrees before the week of 100s hits.
BBL

Great book suggestions!
I love the old mysteries by Helen MacInnes and the BONES series. Also the books by Jean Auel. I have every one of the series by Kathleen O'Neal and W. Michael Gear on Pre-Columbian North America.

What is that show called where the plane crashes on an island in the middle of no where.
They find a long haired lady that had been living for years on the island.
Um...
One girl gives birth to a baby on the island.

This is all I can remember right now.
One of my favorite series! LOST had some good new stars too.

I know but I live in a neighborhood and to me the size of my yard just doesn't justify it. Sometimes I seriously wish I had one though! I am beet red right now.
Takes me an hour to weed wack the yard and garden with the walk behind push weeder and then an hour and a half to mow on the riding mower. Can't imagine trying to use a push mower !!

I think the only time I have eaten deer meat was in a sausage.
Are there other ways to eat it?
Deer meat makes great jerky, stew, steaks, fajitas, roast.
It all depends on how the deer is cleaned and butchered and prepared. Must remove the scent glands or the meat tastes rank.
Same for lamb...for those who thought it tasted too wild...probably wasn't butchered correctly.

All are welcome to murder mink.
Once we are finished dispatching them, we can discuss tape worms. Hooray!
and someone needs to tan the hides and we make a mink stole and have a drawing!

I’ve got bad news. :(
I went to check on the broody hen and all four eggs were gone. Nothing left of them, and she did not have a single chick with her. :hit
I’m done with broodies. This is ridiculous :hit
Sounds like a snake or possum.

Loved all three of those. I liked Batman Begins too. Couldn't really get through the other ones even though I love Christian Bale. American Psycho is probably one of the best movies known to mankind.
I was bummed that Taika Waititi lowered himself to do Thor... His other movies are great. What we do in the shadows is one of the funniest movies I've seen in the last ten years!

Did anyone ever watch True Blood??:lau
WORST ACTING EVER!!!

Dexter is an all time favorite though.
I loved the first season of Trueblood and I loved Dexter but couldn't finish it - got too ridiculous with his sister (can't stand that actress).

I have to laugh at all this distressed looking stuff because I have only bought a new couch, chair, tv/stereo stand and 3 mattresses in my whole life and I am now retired.. everything else was used and some was from the side of the road.... so I am right in style .. everything I own is distressed :gig

I want to se this H Tale one but it hasn't made it to Netflix yet.

You could just read the book.

Also I recently picked up a Roku and can now watch lots of internet stuff on my TV.

Also if you have an e-reader of any sort and a library card you can download a lot of books for free. Many people don't seem to know this even though it's been a thing for years.

Ah okay, so you already know which superhero movies are good. Thor was okay, I had a good laugh for sure, I just found myself cringing at some parts. Something about marvel’s style makes me shudder, just a little.
I absolutely love American Psycho! I love thrillers but I’m picky about my horrors.

I have been "renting" books this way for YEARS through my public library.
I can also get kid books through our school's library online too now.
