Ok, I feel I can safely lock the birds in their houses for the night, but scared about daytime. I'm not copping them 24/7. Do weasels hunt in daytime? I really didn't think they lived here! What do they normally eat beside pet chickens?

I think weasels kinda live everywhere (unfortunately for all of us). They normally eat rodents and are pretty opportunistic with prey. I'm not sure when their normal hunting times are but I've only seen them early in the morning.
Hardware that bad boy up tomorrow and you'll be good to go for the coop.
Do you have a run or are your birds free range? Mine are free range and we haven't had any issues with them during the day.

Speaking of rats and fingernails...
A friend of mine had a rat that gave manicures. She would get her bottom teeth under your nail and scrape all of the stuff under your nails for you.
