Thank you! I love them to death as well. I’m not sure why they are noticeably smaller and less feathered than the others but their huge personality makes up for it.
Yes, for me it was personality as well. I had a m and a f in my order. Chuy the cockrel had the most awsome personality, calm demeanor and flock leadership skils. Tina (because she was tiny as a chick;)) grew to a good sized hen with a funny attitude and greedy too! lol

The males have a double dose of the barring gene and overall appear much lighter. Also notice the dark shading on your chicks legs indicative of females.. The head spot is diferent but i have trouble using that indicator. There will be photos online illustrating this.:D

Thanks! I’m sure it’ll be a breeze to sex them at that age, I just want to know NOW, haha. Patience is a virtue but I was clearly not blessed with it. ;)
I have some pics illustrating the difference at that young age, just have to look for them. The males have wider barring as soon as the feathers are visible.

View attachment 1477118 Ok, not a textbook shot but the guy in the middle, only one looking at me and the camera, is Chuy as a chick. See how dusty grey he looks compared to your chick.
Interesting! I will certainly be bothering y’all more in the next few weeks as more feathers and combs come in haha.
I’m so worried I’ll somehow end up with 100% cockerels.
