2 female and one male buff orpington and 3 female and one male Pekin. I’m ok with Thursday. I’ll swing by tractor supply to getnthe food and vitamins to have on hand and anything else I read about for emergencies.

Plan is to use my old quail setup for brooding and the pen can evolve into the duck house.

You are going to have your very own Street Food next week.

I have two more days before I can candle my Peking eggs so I’m hoping I just guaranteed they will all hatch as I just ordered some chicks and ducks from ideal. They should be here next Friday! I gotta go learn me how to raise a duck!

On a different note, anyone ever had to file down a chickens beak tip? I have a 5 month old pullet that constantly has a super sharp razor tip and she got my finger with it last night.

He knows that nobody messes with my kids, so he's never even tried. My girls know that he's a bully & a few years ago he was picking on one of my nephews whos on the Aspergers spectrum. The poor kid was starting to frazzle which thrilled BIL to no end & my DD1 14 or 15 at the time lost it on him. I wasn't in the room to watch it all go down, but I heard BIL tell his side of the story & I heard DD1 tell her side of the story & by all accounts, it sounded like she verbally went for his jugular. I was so proud!!!

Good parenting right there.

On a different note, anyone ever had to file down a chickens beak tip? I have a 5 month old pullet that constantly has a super sharp razor tip and she got my finger with it last night.

My little speckled sussex has been glued to the nest all this week, so I put in an order at My Pet Chicken today. I've never ordered from them before, but they had a 7 chick minimum, and they had breeds I wanted.
