➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

This is so sad... it's either Angel or Lillie... I only got to name like one bird and that's my white EE Winnifred, aka Winnie. The kids named everyone else and they are awful names except the other EE, Magnolia, aka Maggie. We have Layla, Darlynn (my oldest girls very southern take on darling:lau) Angel, Lillie (I get these two mixed up and the girls have to set me straight), Aurora (can you guess who she's named after?), Peanut, Zoe Zebra (British pronunciation from peppa pig compliments of my nephew), Lucky-the sole survivor of the hatch, Cleo (I named her I forgot), Charlette, Cookie & Dot. I THINK Lillie is the splash girl. So how did you end up with two Lucilles? I have to know! That was my grandmothers name btw!
Like a million names!! Not bad, really.
Um, the Lucilles...

@littleprairieheartsfarm does this bird have any other symptoms at all? It really does look kind of "fungus-y" but I'm not sure what else could do this. Have you seen evidence of live or mites? My buff silkie had bad mites when I first got her but I saw most the evidence around her eyes.it didn't really look like this though. It was shabbier looking and much more inflamed. Also, i was looking at another thread the other day and this person's bird had what looked to me like a fungal infection (it resembled this but it was much worse) and it had me wondering how do you treat fungal infections in chickens. The only thing I, personally, have ever seen marketed as an antifungal for chickens is oxine and I'm pretty sure it's more to treat the respiratory issues caused my molds and other funguses-although I do believe it might work for skin infections too. Anyway, since then I've been wondering if you could use lotrimin ir miconazole on birds (I've seen it used for other animals but obviously egg consumption didn't have to be considered). does anyone know anything about this?

@Tesumph any ideas if this is ok for chickens? If so could it be an easy & safe thing for @littleprairieheartsfarm to try for this bird?
She isn’t close to laying yet so egg withdrawal isn’t a problem. I know it looks fungal but none of the others show anything, and it’s only on the top of her comb. It’s so weird! Maybe it’s just really dry?

Yes absolutely, a topical antifungal (probably clotrimazole) would be the first thing I’d try.
Sorry I didn’t reply, Prairie! Been a hectic day.
You’re good Tes! :) It’s been hectic around here too. I’ll see what I can find around here for some antifungal
