I highly doubt my incubator is even going to be unplugged again.
I will be hatching quail non stop once these guys start laying.

When a broody duck hen is in the very back of a 30 inch long plastic barrel and has a threatening evil wailing hisssssss, you back out and let her keep her nest!!
Turns out later yesterday Maggie took Cutie out to go range with the duck flock. I pulled the nest and the eggs, relined the barrel platform with wood shavings, clean water pan and starter game feed.
Candled the remaining 11 eggs. No more babies...3 were no starters, 6 were quitters and the rest were dis. There is a crested gene in the flock. If an embryo gets two crested genes, the combination is fatal.

Mollie's nest just has 9 eggs. Hers are due next week.

They are going to hatch tomorrow...maybe on Sunday.


I'm studying my google sheet on feeds now.
So I know which brands to look for when I head to the feed store.

Our Atwoods only carries one brand with two mixes....one is a starter/grower crumble and the other an all purpose ration. My duck flock free ranges after 10 am til coop up.
