I think the blood was on top of the membrane in the air cell.

A late quitter! for whatever reason, sometimes it happens.Eggtopsy
I think there was only blood in the air cell.
Well maybe not only but that is where most of it seem to be, I think.
I'm thinking what ever happened happened on Friday maybe.

I am blaming the first hatched ones.A late quitter! for whatever reason, sometimes it happens.
Nah, that didn't cause it but if you feel better about it, go for it!I am blaming the first hatched ones.
They were playing bowling ball too much with the eggs.
I think so, can you post a pic of each different colored one once they get fluffy? Would be easier to tell at that point.I need to print this post.
It doesn't make sense yet, I am going to have to re read it in a few minutes once my headache goes bye bye.
Thanks you.
So I have 3 "different" ones? There are only 3 that have the yellow. The rest are the "regular" ones.
Solid yellow = white
The yellow with the colorful stripe will be the tuxedo
And the yellow with the solid stripe will be the golden/Italian?
Is this right?
Definitely crazy hatch. The hen showed up after I relented and gave 4 marked eggs to a different persistent broody on 8/10. Poor thing was sitting in an old brooder that is in the chicken yard, but it was at an angle, so every egg she tried to set on just slid out from under her (she didn't seem to notice). Mom was collecting them because she thought another hen had just laid near the broody. I rearranged her box and now she's much happier. No clue where I'm going to put her if she manages to hatch the 4 eggs.Is this a crazy hatch or what?
Do you have a big baking tray? You can put underneath the cage, lined with news paper or towels, or what have ya!OH...and I got a piece of plywood cut and installed to cover the bottom of the quail cage for now so they don't fall through the wire floor.
I still can't think of what I am going to put down in it to collect poop.
I am changing paper towels hourly right now.

I have my adult quail on 1/2inch hardware cloth with an oilpan underneath. 2'x3' pan from O'Reilly only about $15 each. They work really well, just scrape the poop off with a kitty litter scoop.Do you have a big baking tray? You can put that underneath, lined with news paper or towels, or what have ya!
this is what I am calling them...I have no clue what these colors should be called.I think so, can you post a pic of each different colored one once they get fluffy? Would be easier to tell at that point.
