You should also be sent extras to help account for being shipped eggs. I also believe in not writing anything in the box saying it has eggs. I did an experiment a few yrs ago one box with hatching eggs and one not. May have been coincident but the hatching egg box had scrambles in it. I highly suggest to people I send eggs to to not want hatching eggs written in the box cause I believe it brings unwanted attention. People can be cruel

Yup. I got 1 extra the last time.
My post system handled the marked package well. No detached air cells, no scrambles and only 1 cracked egg.
But the package just had a cartoon sticker of a chick hatching from an egg and marked in bold VERY FRAGILE.

Speaking of hair... Cotton got her hair did today and she's over it. She says she feels your pain! All this beauty stuff just isn't worth the trouble.

I've found that if the shipping box was marked "Live embryos" or "Live Hatching Eggs" they were usually scrambled. Postal workers just can't resist shaking the devil out of the box, in hope of hearing a chirp!

Opinions please. My white leghorn has started laying. I've gotten 5 eggs from her. All tiny, bantam sized eggs. I know the first egg or two can be small but five? Is that normal? Should they get larger or does this indicate that she will always lay tiny eggs. (Side note: NONE of my chickens did the small first egg thing. They all laid a normal size egg from day 1 except a random fart egg I got once.) TIA guys! All five pictured are hers.

Love it on both pics. LOL Are you forever having to chase your cows? I'm pretty sure if you take care of the animals they will stay put but our neighbor has six cows on 7 acres. The cows are always coming over to our place. I'm sure he doesn't put out enough hay or possibly even water. Our place must look like nirvana to them. Last time we called the county and they came and got them. When he got them back all of a sudden he had hay bales out there. I feel sorry for the animals when a$$h0le people don't care from them.

edit: After I hit post i realized i was inadvertantly asking if you took care of your cows, not my intention. I would like to have cows but don't want to go chasing them when they escape. I was wondering if someone with well cared for animals had that problem! I should really read before i hit post.

I'm just too lazy to maintain a short hair cut now. Way beyond caring what anyone things but can't stand having to get a haircut every 6-8 weeks!

LOL! That is my point. I get out of bed and wash it or not it gets put in a clip. Some days I even brush it. Most of the time I tie it in a knot and jab a hair stick through it and call it good.

Yep! You can’t tie a pixie cut up! If you’re having a bad hair day you’re screwed LOL.
Messy buns are my best friend in summer. I HATE hair touching my neck when I’m hot and sweaty. Ugh.

It is easy to ponytail or bun my long hair. It takes more effort to wear it down! When I wash my hair, I curl it up with 6 curlers on top of my head...so I can sleep.

Sorry I'm late to this but have you tried getting some Nutri-Drench down the chick?

I have. I believe she has had at least a quarter mL at this point.

Ok, just checking. It seems to give them a boost, or at least that's been my experience using it with weak chicks. Hope for the best with the little one!

Poultry Nutri-Drench is wonderful. I add a cc to the quart waterer each time I change it.

We run over 100 momma cows and 5 bulls. They are well maintainer and are checked several times a day. They are grass fed and supplemented with mineral. Winter feed is hay and cubes. Vaccinations for calves are given when they are between 2 and 4 weeks. Calves and cows wear ear tags and pairs are matched so moving pastures we can safeguard missing one. Weak newborns are given Nutri-Drench for cattle and over the years we have even had a few in the kitchen over night.
Cows follow us in the Ranger or feed truck. Have only had one bull go thru a fence due to a fight for dominance. He followed a feed bucket back to the barn.

Thanks for this info. My neighbor is just an idjit. We live in one of two counties in Texas that is still "free range". The county said it is our responsiblity to have a fence to keep the animals out. We are completely fenced with 5' farm fence (4" x 6" welded wire)but his animals have destroyed it in sections trying to get to our pasture. They said that is a civil matter... as if we are going to sue them or something. So... we just go buy cattle panels and put them up over the areas that get destroyed. *sigh*
