OMG, that is adorable!Nothing in the snake trap I’ve had out (which I suppose is a good thing), but I DID find the cutest baby brown snake ever.

You guys are crazy!Me too!
Aha...blobs might be a good thing in these eggs but the blobs should not me floating freely.Breed- since I am learning, i got some barnyard surprises, brown eggs from a local chicken rancher extraordinaire and coworker. Rooster is a mutt. Eggs are collected from several different hens. Production Reds, Australorps & Dominiques - a colorful flock. No idea what I wound up with. Isn't this exciting!
I asked for horse eggs, but no one understood. I settled for surprises. Pardon the mess. #8 broke and got all over everybody else. The hen went to eat and was not sharing with everyone else.View attachment 1511768
Yep. 10 or 15 days. I'm almost certain of it. They should pip next week or next month.
Should the blobs be different sizes? I mean large blob that takes the whole egg except for the 2 bits on the ends? There is one that is only half that size. Should I pull it too? It was pretty so I stuck it back in the nest. Maybe it's just a runt.
Looking at Pugsy's chart, it looks like the large blobs are farther along than I thought. If it's warm outside, does that speed the development? It's been awfully hot. I can just imagine those chicks want to come out and get a drink of water.
This candling stuff is pretty boring, Kiki. Got mosquitos biting my knees & gnats buzzing my ears while I'm fighting a hen, balancing an egg on a flashlight in the dark hoping the vampires and werewolves aren't sneaking up on me to look at a blob. Then you have to be smart enough to know if the blob is good or not. Very confusing.
Remind me how to sex the eggs again. Please.
So tonight I need to outline the air cell so the chick knows where to pip and get out at. I like the way you draw the directions on the egg. You'd think the hen would do that when she laid it.
Oh, and numbering them. Can I wait until they hatch? I don't want to be too early and count them before they hatch.![]()
I like the tequila shelf.
