I think I got one real faker/mini.
The all yellow...now white one is dainty.

There is nothing wrong in doing that just as there is nothing wrong in using your hands to feel around under the plants and harvest a few of those wonderful "new" potatoes. I happened to be out of potatoes in June when I needed some to make mashed potatoes to go along with my stuffed roasted rooster. One plant in particular that was a volunteer (I did not plant it) produced enough potatoes that I had my mashed potatoes including a 4 1/2" potato that weighed 1 lb. 3 oz. That plant is still doing well and producing more potatoes.

Ok, I may have a little dig around. This is exciting. So far this is my most successful garden. We will be having salad every night forever. My husband calls it my spicy weeds salad because there's something from the mesclun mix that is really bitter. I mostly give that one to the Ducks. That was another part of my garden goal though, if I couldn't grow things for me to eat I wanted to at least grow things that are good for the chickens and ducks to eat and I will get the nutrition via eggs. None of my strawberries came back this year though and that was previously my biggest success, so I will need to start over with them next year.
