➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I never let people out anymore cause a couple yrs ago I was a few cars behind someone who let someone out to cross from the right side of the street and a cop was coming up the left side of us code 3 lights and sirens and she crossed right in front of him and he slammed into her. It's a good gesture but not worth the liability especially in a company vehicle

No.

Country to her is ONE dirt road where it takes one hour to get to the nearest neighbor.
I’m in the country then.
We’re surrounded by a healthy mixture of cattle ranchers and white trash. Houston’s construction tentacles are rapidly creeping in, but it is what it is.. there’s not as much available land down here as there is up in Banty’s frozen tundra.

Heh. Mostly because anyone from the south rapidly runs back home with icicles on their cowboy hats.

Yes, I wave at everyone.
I smile at everyone too. Makes them wonder what I'm up to.

I also stand in the elevator with my back to the door and make conversation with anyone that will look my way.

Work in a 2 story building. I'll ask what floor they want when they get in. :lau
Had more than one person look at the buttons confused. When did they put a 3rd level on? Yes, most everyone knows and talks to me.

Try this tomorrow.
How are you?, they ask.
Fuzzy, I answer. Smile and keep on walking. :lau

I always wave at people down my road. Raised in a farm sort of situation where everyone waved. I wave at construction crews, neighbor's, random people to apologize for my shitty driving, etc.
Yeah, you would be one to wave at everyone, including men in vans. :lau

Well, snobbery is pretty typical for Massachusetts, so I'm not too shocked. :caf

Hey now lol jk you're right. I sometimes see bands and stuff being like "everyone in the Northeast is so nice amd friendly we can't wait to come back" and I'm like what do you mean lol

You do not wave at strangers here...they may think you are giving them the finger.

Stranger danger.

Lol

Yea, but I don’t live in a neighborhood, and I’m not comfortable walking the road we live on. If a stranger waved at me where I live I would absolutely feel creeped out.

I guess it’s not creepy in a neighborhood; I was imagining a back street or country road.

I often get accused of giving dirty looks.. I just have severe RBF.

That makes sense. On a backroad it would priba be creepy or by a guy. But in neighborhoods or the cities.

And hm, maybe they do too. Although I think they're genuinely judging lol cause usually i look like skfiebs maybe i need to try an experiment lol

Noted. Good thing I never aspire to be walking in Houston anyway. :p

Good point. City environments have an extra weird factor. I'm not even okay with walking in my definition of a city, much less yours!

We don't even walk in our city.
:lau

Is it that dangerous? I thought Houston and Austin were nice?

I'm having this discussion with Chef (I'm talking to him again...he bought me shoes to say he was sorry for being a butt head). I thought it was a generational thing...my parents wave/wave back when you let someone in traffic/in front of you and I was taught this as "good driving manners". Chef says he sometimes waves but that he can't recall his own parents waving. I only notice it now in older drivers. The younger ones....I don't want to wave to, I want to ram them.

Yeah, I was taught to wave thank you or whatever too. And yes kids are annoying. The worst though are the kids in Jeeps (everyyyywheeeereeeee here) and the jerks in the massive trucks that always honk the millisecond the light turns green, etc.

Right, because it's always seven hundred million degrees there.

Lol

Lol RBF is real for me too. It works for me, all the men at work are afraid of me lol

:lau

What isn’t?

That show you watch? Maybe.
I already forgot...wait Arrested something.

Ya that one

I was taught to always wave in those circumstances.

Same

Arrested Development. It is on Netflix that’s why I was confused lol

Oh I thought it wasn't? Did they recently add it? Maybe I'm thinking of the other one?

OH ok...maybe she was talking about a different one.

Nah, I thought it wasn't

How are the chicks?

Good! I got the band off that chick finally. In other news, I’m about ready to start chopping some cockerels’ heads off. One finally did the deed on the wroooong pullet. Out of all of them he sat on one of the Australorp pullets and now that just sat us back a whole month and a half at the least. :barnie

Sorry :(

Oh, I’m very far from the city. I live out in the country.

Riiight. Your definition or mine?

I wave to let people in or to say thanks/sorry. I don’t wave hello.. isn’t that what we’re talking about?

Yes

 You tell me. Country is country, no?

She is in the country.
Not quite your kind though.
Country for here.

No.

Country to her is ONE dirt road where it takes one hour to get to the nearest neighbor.

Not quite an hour. :tongue

Oh wow that's scary! I think in that case though if the cop was close enough to hit her then she should not have gone even if someone was letting her and should've seen him?

But ya, letting someone go can be dangerous, like if the person behind you doesn't, so I don't always but I more mean like really busy roads and you sit there a while cause zero people let you go. There are a few of those here. Some of them they are even racing to sit at a light but can't let you go lol

But I get that it can be dangerous or some people are scared or whatever and also sometimes when you let one go then you gotta let everyone go (I've had people cut in front of me to take advantage of the fact I let someone else go lol even if I have already started moving and clearly don't want to let you go lol) but to have no one let you go gets old lol and I think most people here do it just cause they don't want to or are in a hurry. Everyone's always in a hurry these days.

I’m in the country then.

Oh boy white trash is no fun lol

Heh. Mostly because anyone from the south rapidly runs back home with icicles on their cowboy hats.

Yup, can’t argue with that one!

Oh wow lol my mom could talk to a bar stool lol

Me on the other hand, while I have gotten better about making conversation and willingly do it at stores, food places, etc., I hide in elevators lol not really hide but go to a far corner and avoid any interaction lol

Yeah, you would be one to wave at everyone, including men in vans. :lau

:lau

Guess who made a 104 on her first Neo exam today! :woot I seriously doubt I keep up that pace but I'll take it and celebrate it today! I love starting
