I never let people out anymore cause a couple yrs ago I was a few cars behind someone who let someone out to cross from the right side of the street and a cop was coming up the left side of us code 3 lights and sirens and she crossed right in front of him and he slammed into her. It's a good gesture but not worth the liability especially in a company vehicle

Yea, but I don’t live in a neighborhood, and I’m not comfortable walking the road we live on. If a stranger waved at me where I live I would absolutely feel creeped out.

I guess it’s not creepy in a neighborhood; I was imagining a back street or country road.

That makes sense. On a backroad it would priba be creepy or by a guy. But in neighborhoods or the cities.

I'm having this discussion with Chef (I'm talking to him again...he bought me shoes to say he was sorry for being a butt head). I thought it was a generational thing...my parents wave/wave back when you let someone in traffic/in front of you and I was taught this as "good driving manners". Chef says he sometimes waves but that he can't recall his own parents waving. I only notice it now in older drivers. The younger ones....I don't want to wave to, I want to ram them.

Yeah, I was taught to wave thank you or whatever too. And yes kids are annoying. The worst though are the kids in Jeeps (everyyyywheeeereeeee here) and the jerks in the massive trucks that always honk the millisecond the light turns green, etc.

Oh wow that's scary! I think in that case though if the cop was close enough to hit her then she should not have gone even if someone was letting her and should've seen him?

But ya, letting someone go can be dangerous, like if the person behind you doesn't, so I don't always but I more mean like really busy roads and you sit there a while cause zero people let you go. There are a few of those here. Some of them they are even racing to sit at a light but can't let you go lol

But I get that it can be dangerous or some people are scared or whatever and also sometimes when you let one go then you gotta let everyone go (I've had people cut in front of me to take advantage of the fact I let someone else go lol even if I have already started moving and clearly don't want to let you go lol) but to have no one let you go gets old lol and I think most people here do it just cause they don't want to or are in a hurry. Everyone's always in a hurry these days.

Me on the other hand, while I have gotten better about making conversation and willingly do it at stores, food places, etc., I hide in elevators lol not really hide but go to a far corner and avoid any interaction lol
