Hey all. I filled up the ducks pool today so I thought that I would take a couple of quick videos of them playing. They are something else.

In this 2nd video I was able to get Luna flying. She loves to do these short flutters across their pen. She's getting really good at coming down gently. What is funny, is that the others want to emulate her. As you can see with the Pekin (that is Gomer) towards the end of the video, it doesn't work as well for him. Plz excuse my father-in-law yapping. He wouldn't hush lol!

They all have gotten so big! The Rouens are Noah and Xena. Luna is the littlest one, the Mallard. It'll be difficult to differentiate between the 3 Pekin but they are Forrest (green band), Goober (red band) and Gomer (yellow band). No real "theme". The closest to a theme are Goober and Gomer (Andy Griffith show). DH picked the male Rouens name. I picked Xena because she is my little warrior and Luna... I don't know why. It popped in my head and I liked it. They are almost 2 1/2 months old. The time where I need to worry about having too many males is going to be here before I know it. It's gonna break my heart.

Quail poppers!
Wait. Bell pepper? The store out of jalapeño? Serrano would work.
Add a green onion? Marinate in mustard? Whiskey BBQ sauce is good too.
The before picture looks delicious. How many pans did you make?

I don't like spicy, so that's why I used bell pepper instead of something stronger. I only butchered 6 quail, so just this one pan. The boys were getting rowdy and the girls were losing head feathers, so the boys had to go.

I will probably try different variations of this recipe until I find a favorite. I am still learning how to cook quail and what recipes are good. I still need to cook the legs, was going to do that tonight. Thinking some sort of honey glaze/sauce.

I’m recovering just great! Nothing super new has been discovered but that’s alright, I’m doing much better and both the frequency and severity of seizures has lowered.

Actually, I owe you baluttie members an apology! For about two weeks after getting out of hospital I kept wondering why no one had bothered to check in, or even mentioned me in this thread. Little did I know everyone had wished me well (and a couple had messaged me), but I had read everything before the drugs wore off and totally forgot it all. Its actually kind of funny, but also really sad lmao.
I have since reread everything directed at me, including my own ridiculous posts (I got a good laugh out of those—also super embarrassed at some lmfao), and have pieced everything together with a couple people’s help. So yea, thank you everyone for being so kind, love y’all. I’m sorry for taking such an extended break, but I do believe it was good for my overall mental health. Especially after.. yknow.. almost dying.

But anyway. Everything from the day I was put in hospital up to the day after I got out is gone (solid 5 days) and it’s spotty a couple days after. Rereading everything made me laugh and tear up and bleh! Such a confusing roller coaster.
Funny enough, I distinctly remember seeing this:

and spending like 5 minutes staring at it in hospital and trying to figure it out. It blew my mind for no reason LOL. Of all the things to remember, right?
