I don't want to take a chance that I have deformed chicks though.

Eggs stored at 55°F will stay in suspended animation. No development. No death. Up to 10 days is the rumor and then success rate drops.

Once the temperature is raised to 99°F and held fairly constant, the zygote then divides to make a bird. Simply amazing and very interesting.

Go for it. The don't set pullet egg rule is way over rated. Just save them for 7 to 10 days so you don't have a staggered hatch.
