I just lost my Japanese bantam cockerel to a hawk a couple of days ago. I even took pictures of you want to see them later. It only took off the head.

That’s what happened to Ditzy. Her head was gone, and the chickens plucked the rest of her breast.

Oh no! We’ve been keeping a close eye on them when we’ve been home but that’s easier to do with ground fowl. I’m so sorry

We’ve been searching the ends of the earth for some Cayuga ducks, ducklings, hatching eggs, something! Delilah is so panicked, she’s screaming for Ditzy and only calms down when we are with her.

We hope so too. She’s such a sweet girl. Usually she goes broody every few weeks and she hasn’t in a while but because I want her to be broody she won’t.

I think the hawks migrate in the fall, right? So that's probably why there's such large numbers of them lately.
