➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

:hugsHappy for you! It is a practice that will benefit you all your life.:thumbsup
I am trying to convince my mom to start.
She is just like I was...very skeptical of it.
I know she will like it if I can just get her to start.

Alrighty ya’ll. We have the option of adding a gosling to our flock. I’ve read many different things saying that if you have one goose it’ll protect your flock.

However, I just want to know if anyone has had geese before and hand-raised them, did it turn out well? We know that they are loud, which at this point would be best for us since the hawk doesn’t look like it’s planning on leaving anytime soon..and if we do move then we also have a flock protector already available.
Only geese we had were two rescues at 4 weeks of age. A 5 year old got them for Easter....kept them in a dog crate in his room.... an African gray gander and a Chinese white hen. He was mean as a bull, bit and would attack the dog causing serious bruises and he was loud all the time. She was a sweetheart. Will never have geese again.

Had to take Lily to the vet for staples in her side Monday. While playing after breakfast Lily started zooming around the barn. Ruby nipped Lily as she ran past her...ripped a 3 corner tear in her skin.
:eek:Not the way your morning should start.

When she wouldn't leave the staples alone :barnieI had to improvise a cone of shame and tape up her side where she had removed 5 staples. Then we took the 11 calves to the vet for vaccinations.

Once we got home, I put Lily in a t-shirt. This is much more comfortable. :hugsLove this girl.

Her spay surgery stitches and the staples will come out next week.:celebrate

Today...prepping for a late week freeze. Duck pens get covers, extra hay in all the coops, garden gets stripped again. And I'm still working on the sewing room.

Ya'll have a good day.

Right on! Are you still doing the breathing class or a more standardized version of Vinyasa flow?
It's sitll Kundalini but not so much breathing stuff anymore. More normal.

Me:ya:ya:ya

I've been watching the pots. They went down today. I got the last two.

They were probably poorly interacted with since they were kept in a crate for so long. Goslings are so cute, but you have to be prepared for when they aren’t so cute.
