➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I would like to brag and say thank you. @sumi this includes you.:frow

I was awarded a BYC calendar. Thanks to all! It is lovely. Since it is lovely, I was displaying it in the kitchen when Crazy Lady wanted to know why I was hanging a calendar in the kitchen with naked chicks on it. I pointed out that, in fact, Ms. October was wearing an open fronted Halloween costume, so not all the chicks are naked.

Then the fight started. :lau We had fun.

We are planning on leaving the naked chick calendar in the kitchen and the kids come home for Christmas. :lau

I would like to suggest that the BYC calendar pursue a marketing campaign focusing on the "naked chick" market segment. I'm sure sales will skyrocket. :wee

Everyone should check out the calendars - they are shipping!
I just ordered mine this morning, I kept forgetting.
Did you notice who Ms. May is?

It's Friday Michelle!
Are you getting a video today?
No. :hit
I just got a call. We had a little bit of freezing rain here last night. As the movers were on the way here one of their trucks spun out, so they turned around and headed back to their shop. It's supposed to warm up tomorrow, making it a muddy mess here. No idea when it's going happen now. :hit:hit

How does one dispatched a rabbit? I don't know.
Internal cervical dislocation seems to be the best and most humane way most people do it. Basically the broomstick method used for chicken. I've watched YouTube videos and one person used an actual broomstick, another made a plywood tool, others use the metal Hopper Popper or a homemade version. Basically you immobilize the head and yank the body away at an angle so the neck breaks. Sorry if that's graphic.

That really sucks, I hope the weather cooperates soon and you can get it moved. :hugs

I stayed up till 5 am trying to idiot proof my quail setup. Going on vacation this weekend and I'm worried they might be too much for my house sitter to deal with. I'm so tired right now, only napped for about 2 hours before having to get up for work. :th

On the plus side I was able to add gravity fed water cups to 7 cages. Ran out of materials and time to do the rest.

Yes! Vacations are so much work. I can't believe people take them and pay good money for them. We leave in a week and I just through I was ready. Apparently, I ONLY took care of MY stuff. Little did I know... :he

I had barely had the chickens out for ten minutes when the red-failed demon from the sky was back. :barnie Negan did a fantastic job of getting everyone back into the coop, Delilah was in her pool and got up by the house, she had some feathers pulled but I’m guessing that was because of how fast she got out of her pool. Everyone is safe and locked up again.

Are they free ranging the entire yard? Or just a specific area (with fences)? Can you put up some netting to keep the hawk out?

It’s the entire backyard with several trees which means we can’t put up netting, we are thinking of getting a dog kennel and putting a cover over it so they can at least have some time out in the yard.
